Family Pictures

Can I just say that my little family is so cute! Cameron and I even look good in some of these! Apparently, as you can see in the pictures Karlie really likes to stick her tongue out, which was new to me. I am so tickled at how these pictures turned out. Thanks to my friend Katie for taking such great pictures of my family! To see her work check out potatobugphotography.com.

Colorado Bear Video!

Yea this bear was right outside our cabin!

Finally a BIG BOY now!

Caden is so happy to have finally lost his two front teeth! He is 8 1/2 and has been a little upset since his younger brother has lost 8 teeth already. Watch out world the toothless wonder is taking flight!

SCHOOL STARTS!

Where did the summer go? This year we are proud to announce that the Whitehead family is sending three darling, bright, outgoing students to the Preston School district. They should be thankful for getting such great kids, plus I have no doubt that their schools scores will increase with these cuties attending! Caden is in 3rd grade, Braken 2nd grade, and my Brenna B. a kindergartner.

Colorado Vacation!

Each year we travel to Colorado to spend some time in our family cabin. My great-grandfather built this beloved cabin the year my grandmother was born - 1924. It has since been somewhat updated. For example we now have a bathroom, more efficient heaters, even a fridge! Oh the life! Nonetheless, my children love spending time in Estes Park. And as Braken exclaims "It is my favorite place on earth Mom!" I've included a few pictures of our trip, however the legacy that my family has left to me and my children surpasses these pictures in meaning. I am so blessed to have been born into such a loving, caring family. Where family truly is the most important thing in the world! If you haven't begun to leave your mark for your family to feel, start now!
-Here are pictures of the Denver zoo, children playing, time with mom, Cameron working etc... all in beautiful Colorado!

Winward Biathlon

I am so proud of myself to say that this summer I ran a 5K race on the 4th of July, and came in 12th. Pretty good for a mother of 4. Most recently however, my dear friends and I completed the Winward Biathlon. This race is a 3.1 mile run then a 14 mile bike. Yes we all did it! As you can see from the picture, Shelly, Jamie, Myself and Tracy were very excited. Everyone at the race called us the Pink Ladies. Which is much better then "Old Ladies". I had to say that for Shelly since she is finally 30! Anyway, we sure have worked hard, but I must admit I hate RUNNING!!!

Summer Fun 2009

We have been very busy this summer. You name it we have done it. Where to start, where to start? We started off by dunking the children into swimming lessons the first part of June. It was a wet June to say the least. The boys have made such great improvements and can swim really well. Brenna took lessons for the first time and did a fantastic job, she was even swimming alone for short distances. Next, we celebrated Braken's birthday, & the 4th of July. Next we relaxed a bit over in Bear lake with our good friends the Curtis's at the family condo. Then we proceeded to Stanley, Idaho where we spent almost a week camping at Stanley Lake with my brother and his family. We came home then took off to Lagoon (amusement park) because you have to go at least once during the summer! Then I went to Boise to see my Dad for two days ( all by myself I might add). He has been undergoing "kemo" treatments and I just decided spur of the moment to go give him a little love! back in Preston we celebrated Rodeo weekend with cooking hamburgers for Kiwanis's club (that was a hoot!), throwing candy in the parade on the SkyTrac, and of course going to the carnival! Now do realize that in between all of this we have been at the lake to many times to count! We have absolutely loved having the boat and playing in the water. Come the end of August, right before school we are heading to Colorado. Well I should say Braken's favorite place on Earth! You know me go go go.......

Brenna Turns "5"

Today Brenna B. turned five. I guess that means I have officially lived in Preston for almost 5 years. Brenna had a few friends over for a PRINCESS party! Everything was Princess, from the crowns, to the dresses, and even the castle jump house! I was even creative and made Princess play dough, which was a big hit! My mom always says that Brenna acts just like I did as a child. My poor Mother! Actually Brenna is a true love with a personality to knock your socks off at any minute! Happy Birthday my sweet five year old!

Our Boat!

Cameron and I have been wanting a boat for years now and have finally saved enough money to buy one! Cam acts like a small child at Christmas! We just bought a 3 person tube, some skis, that is all for now. I must add that I did get up on one ski the first time this season with only one try. "Who's the Woman!" Anyway here are a few pictures of the beautiful boat and Cam and a few of the kids frolicking on the beach. (By the way boating during the week is the BOMB, weekends not so much.) P.S. This happened back in May, i'm just a little slow putting it one here.

Karlie's 2nd Birthday

I honestly don't think I have ever seen Karlie act so cute! She was so excited for her birthday and her presents. Grandma B. bought her some dress ups and she just fell in love with them. I think the best part for her was knowing that they were hers and hers alone. No more having to use Brenna's and having her get mad for wearing them. I made her a white cake and she seemed to enjoy the frosting. Like mother like daughter, we are frosting lovers. I can remember in about the 4th grade I requested a total frosting cake for my birthday. Did my mom ever deliver!
Karlie has been such a joy these past 2 years that we could not ever live without her!

Dance Recital 2009

This is a little treat for Elder and Sister Whitehead, who are missing out on 2 dance recitals while away. ( Is there a spider crawling up her skirt?)

35 Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Cameron! Yes Cam turned the big 35 this year. I told him that it was half way to 70. I don't think he appreciated that very much, but what can I say I am only a few years younger. The children and I celebrated with his favorite meal T-bone steaks, baked potato, salad with hard boiled eggs, and seasoned Italian Asparagus. It really was delicious! Next some good friends came over for cake and ice cream. Cameron had to have a specific cake form Sam's club, the kind with the Persian filling. I think and hope he had a nice time. Until next year HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!

Karlie Anne

Lately I find myself taking pictures of our "dog-darling" Karlie. She will be 2 next week and can not help but share her cute personality. AKA; Karlie Warlie - Warliss (Grandma Corliss thinks that is close to her name) - Woogle - Woogie - & Woogie Woo.

FINALLY!

A few weeks ago my brother-in-law Danny came and helped Cameron wire the basement. Ever since then Cam has been very motivated in finishing the basement. If I knew Danny was what Cameron needed to get motivated, I would have sent for him a long time ago! Anyway here are a few pictures of the basement. Yes I now officially have two laundry rooms! And the one in the picture even works, though nothing else down there does, YET!

Brenna's Preschool Dance

Brenna recently had her dance pictures taken and I though I would share it with you. Is she not the cutest dancer in the group!

TAX DAY!

We have not ever had to pay taxes like this before! So yes we had to take a picture and cherish the moment as our hard earned money was mailed to the IRS. IRS stands for: I'm Really Sad they took my money, because I could have finished my basement.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from our clan to yours. We spent our time dying eggs (I do not love doing that), hunting and more hunting at Grandma B's house. During church someone asked how the Easter Bunny got rolled up into Easter. I thought about that and am not sure if I have the answer or not, but I think is must be a shopping promotion at one time or another. Also, remember those commercials for Cadburry Eggs and the different animals they used to represent the bunny? chicken, turtle, rodent etc... and it ended up on a large rabbit popping out an egg. What was that? My friend Jamie (professional rabbit caregiver) says that rabbits have live births every 6 weeks, no egg popping involved. I guess that means we should have an Easter Chicken instead, but who wants to snuggle up to an Easter Chicken?

Brenna B. - The Dancer

Brenna is just finishing out her second year of dancing and the performances have begun.
(Cameron can not wait to go to all of them.). Here is a little taste of her Itsy Bitsy Spider dance. Is she not the cutest 4 yr old you have ever seen?

Spring Break 09

The kids and I decided it was time to get out of Dodge and head up to see our family in Boise. We were lucky enough to see my sisters new baby daughter Kiyah Anne, and Grandpa Hunemiller who just flew in from New Mexico. We stayed at my brothers home and most likely drove my sister-in-law Kirsten NUTS! However, I know my nephew Jarett had a blast with his cousins! Overall we had a very nice time spending time with my sister and her kids, my sister-in law and her son and of course Grandpa. Cameron even showed up for a day! The weather on the other hand was not that great, but what can I say other than ----"10 weeks until summer!"

This is a picture of my In-laws car that was totaled. Vince was driving and got a little distracted ( I like to say he was "gawking") and T-boned an SUV. Luckily they were not hurt, other than when the air-bag came out. It's amazing how Heavenly Father will watch over you when you are trying to do the right thing, like serving a mission in their case.

Toothless Wonder!

St. George Weekend!

Yes we spent last weekend in St. George. Yes, I forgot to take my camera. However, I took photos on my phone. If anyone knows how to get those on here let me know! Why is it that I always have to pack, get the car ready ( clean it out, fill it up, get all the necessary treats and DVD's to watch), then leave and turn around to do the same thing in reverse order when I get home? This could possibly be one of the reasons why I dislike going places because it is so much WORK! Not that I am opposed to work, it is just that there are five other people in this family who could help! (Ever feel that way?) All right, I'm moving on. We had a very pleasant time in St. George. It was not very warm, maybe 60' but that is much warmer than here. It was however very sunny and that was GREAT!!!!! We went to Zion National Park and hiked around, had a picnic lunch and drove through the tunnel twice! I think Cameron like that even more than the kids. We did a lot of swimming in the pool and playing outside at the park, mini-golf or the old ghost town. We had a very nice time but now we are back to the HORRIBLE snow. Yes it is currently snowing! So if you are looking for some sun and can get there on less that a tank of gas ( that's even in our Yukon XL) then get off your bums and go to St. George!

Side note: Braken lost his other top front tooth on the trip. He said that now he looks like his friend Mckade who knocked both of his out. He looks to cute! Older brother Caden is not very happy though, because he still has both his front baby teeth!

Caden's Baptism January 31, 2009

Caden's Big Day

Caden has been hounding me to get these on here so Grandma & Grandpa Whitehead ( in Guyana) could see him on his baptism day. He truly had a very wonderful day. Cameron was a little nervous because they only put about 2 feet of water in the font. He did not want to have to repeat the whole process if something did not go under! Blessed be the day however that it all went very well the first time. After the baptism, when Caden and Cameron went to change clothes, Karlie started screaming. Cameron thought it was because he left the room, WRONG! She had dropped her binky into the font. I had to crouch down and extend my arm as far as it would go under the glass barrier, luckily I was able to grab it. Once I grabbed it I turned around towards everyone in the room and announced that "this binky is now sin free!" They all chuckled! I've included a list of the people who so lovingly attended this special day for Caden. Me, Braken, Brenna, Karlie, Grandma B, Hunemiller family (Chris, Kirsten, Jaret), Candice, Bosworth family (Callie, Kit, Ryker, Lilly), Sorensen family (Jake, Tracy, Mikellie), Curtis family (Jacob, Jamie, Emily, Madison, Dannie, Tori), Wardell family (Shelly, McKade, Madison), Kline family (Aunt Sharon, Shiloaha, Sierra), Bishop Alder, & Teresa Atkinsen.

Christmas 2008

Christmas Pictures

Finally some Christmas pictures. As always we celebrate Christmas at Grandma B's. The children just love sleeping over and waking up at grandmas house the next morning. As you will notice I have a wide variety of pictures from the holidays included in this slide show. There are pictures of us throwing out the reindeer dust for Santa's reindeer. ( It lets them know where to land!) My Mom, brother Chris and his wife Kirsten along with their son Jarett. My little brother Zack might be in a few shots along with my nephew Jonah who is now 12 1/2 years old. My Dad and the gang at his house in Boise. And of course my darling children are there as well. Enjoy.

Christmas with Friends

Christmas party with GREAT Friends

The week before Christmas we invited some of our good friends and their children over for a fun Christmas party. We had an absolutely great time! We played the white elephant game, cat and mouse, and many more. We even had good food to boot! It is so nice to have such wonderful friends as you!

2009 Hip Hip A New Day!

I can not believe that the Holidays are all over and done with. Yesterday I took down all of my Christmas decorations inside my house. With the two feet plus of snow outside I doubt that I will be accomplishing anything outside for some time. Caden's birthday is coming up so quickly! January 9th he will turn 8. Can you believe it 8 years old! Anyone who would like to attend his baptism is more than welcome to come. I think it will be the first part of February. I will catch up with Christmas pictures as soon as I can. Happy New Year!
